Volunteering
BARK is run entirely by volunteers; we have no paid employees and at present
do not receive any governmental help. SOOOO-
BARK’s volunteers are the best!! Thanks to these kind souls, many animals’ lives have
been changed in a very positive way. Comfort and safety of homeless or mistreated animals
is the most important service BARK provides. All of us have been entrusted to care for God’s Creatures.
Ask any current volunteer and they will tell you that the time spent with the pets is fun, relieves stress, and
is a great family activity.
Volunteers are essential to sustaining and growing the organization. The future for our community animal shelter depends upon the dedication of volunteers and we can always use more. Show you care by becoming a volunteer for BARK. We have many opportunities to choose from.
BARK has volunteers who work on the grass roots of the mission-
♦ Taking care of kennel pets by exercising them, giving them attention to let them know they are all
TOP DOGS and CATS
♦ Fostering pets in your home or business, or caring for them after surgery or an accident.
♦ Taking animals to vet appointments, transferring shelter pets
Support and administrative tasks such as-
♦ Bringing in food and supplies
♦ Mowing the property, maintaining the building and plumbing
♦ Placing the pets available for adoption in the newspaper and on the internet
♦ Updating the community on the progress of the organization, educating the public on the importance of
spay and neuter, and problems with stray animals and overpopulation.
♦ Grant writing, record keeping
Staffing and planning special events-
♦ Fundraisers and participation in community events
♦ Trap/ neuter/ release services for feral/free roaming cats
