About
The purpose of Bosque Animal Rescue Kennels, or BARK, is to provide a temporary safe shelter for animals in Bosque County that are lost, unwanted, or abandoned. Lost animals will be returned to their owners, and all others will be given shots, be neutered, and will be found a good home.
BARK is a non-profit group that was established in 2003. BARK currently has a kennel facility about one mile south of Clifton on Highway 6, with a large fenced yard for dogs to run around inside. BARK has no government support and there are no paid volunteers; it is fully supported by small contributions and donations. BARK’s volunteers visit the kennel twice each day to feed, water and exercise the dogs. Cats are currently fostered in the homes of several volunteers that live within Bosque County.
BARK holds several fundraisers every year that include the Hearts & Barks Valentine celebration, an annual rummage sale, BARK in the Park, and there are various donation jars around the county at local businesses.
